Take the tour of our daycare...

Here are some pictures of our daycare setup.  This should give you a feel for how we run things around here.

Welcome to Mrs. Kim's house!!

This is the view from the street of "Mrs. Kim's house", as the kids call it.  We live on a quiet street, with a very large fenced corner lot.  Easy access from Innes Road, with ample parking.

Here's where you hang your coats.

As the children enter from the front door, they hang their coats and bags in the closet. There's an unseen shelf above for storage of diapers, wipes, and extra clothing.  The coat hook is easy for the children to manipulate, and at the right height for them to do it themselves.  (And we all know how much they like to do that!)

This is the living room.

This is the window that your child may wave goodbye to you from.  It faces the street.   That's one of our little beagle's Cassidy sneaking into the picture.

This is what "Table Time" is all about

The dining room is set up for "Table Time".  There are different activities set out at each place.  They address different skills.  The children work at one activitie for 10 minutes or so, and then we rotate them around the table.  This is a favorite time!

The kitchen

This is where lunch is served.  Our kitchen looks out onto our large backyard.  We have bird feeders that the children *love* to watch.  We supply all high chairs and boosters so you don't need to worry about lugging large equipment to our daycare.

Main Floor Playroom

This is the view of the main floor family room from the kitchen. It has been converted to one of our daycare areas. We keep all kinds of educational (and fun) things available for the children to choose freely from. At around  It's very bright with a huge patio door, leading to a screened in room, and a another large window for the children's "viewing pleasure" out onto our backyard which gets visited regularly by all kinds of birds and squirrels.

More of the main floor playroom

Napmat, toys, puzzles, and chalkboard area.  This is right next to the patio door (unseen, on the right).

The Baby Annex

To the side of our Daycare room is a "Baby Annex" geared for our crawlers and "wobblers".  Foam mats cover the floor, a mirror is mounted at floor level for baby's enjoyment, pictures are on the wall between the two "rooms",  a window looks out onto the backyard for nature watching, and age-appropriate toys are used here.  The annex extends the length of the room, and is very much enjoyed, and a great place to keep our littler guests safe and happy!

More fun in the Downstairs Playroom!

At the bottom of the stairway is the entry to the playroom.  It is kept gated for the safety of our  crawlers and "wobblers".  This is a view of the calendar area, used to discuss days of the week, months of the year, seasons, and weather.

Here's the reading area in the playroom.

We offer lots of books and a comfy chair encourage the children to read, or be read to.

Our picinc table

This little table gets used alot!  The kids like to play here, and we sometimes have our snack here.

Some of the toys we have

Here's some of the toys we have out for the kids.  Toys are rotated in and out of the playroom on a daily basis so that the kids always have something new to look forward to.  Toys that are "mouthed" by babies are disinfected daily, and all toys in the playroom are cleaned and disinfected on a weekly basis to help maintain good health in the group.

Second Toy Shelf

These are more of the toys we keep out daily for the children.
